The Body Mind Being Project provides free wellness, resiliency- and stress-management programs for people, families, and mental health workers who have experienced trauma. Think: “Charlie’s Angels meets Mother Theresa” – skilled, mindful practitioners teaching resiliency, embodiment, and self-care skills.
We reach everyone, regardless of race, age, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
Our work includes, and is not limited to: torture survivors, veterans, refugees, neglected children, domestic and sexual abuse survivors, previously incarcerated individuals, those struggling with mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder, those over coming chemical dependency, recovering addicts, individuals struggling with body distortion, and survivors of traumatic accidents.
Our Story
Established in 2015, a compassionate group of contributors and passionate visionaries came together to serve as our Board of Directors. They have supported and have raised funding for community based trauma informed yoga, organizational trauma training and holding multiple collective town hall meeting of trauma-based and mental health professionals.
Assisted in brining free support through our Being Grace program , Trauma-Informed Yoga, and self care programs. We provide scholarships to minorities to attend professional trainings with mentorship at the Body Mind Being Institute. We are continually seeking collaboration with groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds, and partnering with organizations to make the body more accessible.
Support Our Mission
Help us make therapeutic trauma-sensitive yoga, trauma education,
training, and research more widely available to those impacted by trauma and expand the field of trauma recovery.
Scholarships
This is funded by the project for those who are systemically left out of the conversation around wellness, and less likely to have access to cultural or financial capital to access education, services, and yoga trainings.
Donate to Our Annual Fund
When you donate to our annual fund, you are directly supporting our day-to-day operations, allowing the Body Mind Being Project to keep our doors open and our resources available to anyone seeking guidance and recovery from trauma.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide education, mindfulness, and somatic services to support those who are impacted by trauma. We provide trauma recovery to survivors through healing-centered and trauma-informed approaches and yoga. We honor the body’s unique role in healing.
“The Therapeutic Trauma Informed Yoga has been the most helpful treatment for the last two years our young women receive. Being in their bodies then coming together in community after to discuss has been beneficial. I would recommend this to any residential facility. “ Christine Stehlik-Wedgwood Christian Services
