Every yoga therapy session can create sustainable change and empowerment, and slowly, a felt-sense of coming home.
First, our process is all about embodiment. During a yoga therapy session, we use your body as a source of awareness and tap into your body’s wisdom. Neuroscience explains it as experience-based attentional plasticity. When we practice focusing our attention on the breath and internal bodily sensations, it helps us to feel less “stuck” and healing can happen.
Second, the yoga therapist serves as a guide or mentor along that journey, creating a sacred space where the client can remember their own innate healing resources. The skill and practice of the yoga therapist comes through an in-depth understanding of all the facets of yoga. Every session is unique, person-centered, and at that moment.
Yoga Therapy offers support and healing for a variety of issues:
- Trauma, PTSD, abuse, and loss
- The feeling of being stuck
- Finding alignment in your life
- Finding physical, emotional, and spiritual balance
- Anxiety, depression, and stress reduction
- Eating disorders and addictions
- Body image issues
- Chronic pain or fatigue
- Autism, ADHD, ADD
What will happen during a session and how will yoga help me?
Yoga Therapy is a client-centered, personalized approach for creating mental and physical wellness.
Throughout the session, intense feelings and thoughts can be experienced safely, through the body. These feelings will reduce in intensity as they move out through the body.
“Before my Yoga sessions for Trauma, I had personal patterns which hindered my emotional and spiritual growth. After meeting with Raechel, I have been able to open channels to my psyche and my body which have allowed for deeper healing and amazing connection with my higher self. My willingness to heal myself through yoga postures, meditation, breathing techniques, and positive affirmations has made great changes possible in a short period of time. Learning how the brain reacts to traumatic experiences supported this transformative healing.”
